Operating Manual Gulfstream Aerospace Document Number GAC-AC-GIV-OPS-0002 October 11, 2002 TO: All Gulfstream IV Operators SUBJECT: GIV Operating Manual Revision 8, dated October 11/02 This Letter to Operators introduces the release of Revision 8 to the GIV Operating Manual, dated October 11/02. It is applicable to both non-SP GIV aircraft (SN 1000 through 1213 not having ASC 190) and GIV-SP aircraft (SN 1214 and subs; SN 1000 through 1213 having ASC 190). Both this revision and the unrevised portion of the Operating Manual correspond to and compliment GIV Flight Manual Revision 30, dated October 11/02. In addition to changes due to the latest Flight Manual revision, the following changes are included: • All suggestions received in the form of Publications Change Requests and Pilot’s Manuals Direct Line forms were evaluated and, if approved, incorporated into this revision. • References to ASCs 415B and 422A are included where applicable in this revision. • In addition to the new emergency procedure (Section 05-16-10, Fuel Leak In Flight) added in this revision, a chart showing Permissible Fuel Imbalance For All Flight Operations has also been added as a convenience to Operators. • Charts contained in Section 06-05-80, Aircraft Classification Number / Pavement Classification Number (ACN/PCN), have been revised in order to provide standardize line styles used in the charts. • Section 07-01-10, Ground De-Icing / Anti-Icing Procedures, has been revised to include new data from the Winter 2002-2003 update to FAA Bulletin No. FSAT 02-05: FAA-Approved De-icing Program, dated 09/23/02. To incorporate this revision, consult and follow the Summary of Revision 8, located behind the Volume 1 cover page. Following the Summary of Revision 8 and yellow slip sheets preceding each new section, remove superseded cover pages and sections and incorporate the new cover pages and sections. Exercise care not to accidentally remove unrevised sections. If any missing pages are noted while incorporating this revision, please contact Flight Crew Publications at (912) 965-3694 or (912) 965-3204. Other Notes The Gulfstream IV Flight Crew Reference Library CD-ROM is now in the process of being updated for release as version 2002-04. Version 2002-04 will contain complete copies of the GIV Flight Manual, Operating Manual, Quick Reference Handbook, Cockpit Card, MMEL, MMOP, Noise Information Manual and all Operational Information Supplements.
