SUBTASK 27-31-00-010-017 (3) Open this access panel: Number Name/Location 311BL Stabilizer Trim Access Door SUBTASK 27-31-00-860-085 (4) Use the bar, SPL-1677 to set the "B" dimension at 21.32 +/- 0.10 inches (541.5 +/- 2.5 mm) (Figure 502). G. Neutral Shift Test SUBTASK 27-31-00-730-010 (1) Do the neutral shift test: (a) Make sure the right elevator trailing edge moves up 13.90 - 14.90 inches (353.1 - 378.5 mm) from the index mark (Figure 523). (b) Use the bar, SPL-1677 to set the "B" dimension at 45.84 +/- 0.10 inches (1164.3 +/- 2.5 mm). (c) Move the captain’s control column aft and forward lightly to make sure it is in the neutral position. (d) Make sure the right elevator trailing edge moves down 3.20 - 3.80 inches (81.3 - 96.5 mm) from the index mark. SUBTASK 27-31-00-700-006 (2) Do the following steps to check the elevator system: NOTE: You use the Flight Management Computer Control Display Unit (FMC CDU) to do the following Built-In-Test Equipment (BITE) test. Do the instructions that show on the CDU display before you push the LSK that is adjacent to CONTINUE. g) COMPLETE ELEV RIG NOTE: This selection contains the ELEV RIG test. h) During this test, do the instructions that show on the CDU display. i) After you do the instructions that show on the CDU display, push the LSK that is adjacent to CONTINUE. 2) Do the Elevator Rigging Check: a) Make sure that the values for the A and B sides are between the limits that show on the CDU display or in this task.
