Message from the Chairman Datuk Dr. Ahmed Tasir Lope Pihie was the Secretary to the Malaysian Aerospace Council (Chaired by the Prime Minister of Malaysia) up to 2008. He is the architect of the Malaysian Aerospace Blueprint which plans the development of all sectors of the industry. “The Malaysian aerospace industry is a strategic but open industry that allows participation of companies from all over the world. Who We Are Strand Aerospace Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SAM) is an Airbus Approved specialist aerospace structures analysis company. It is part Bumiputra owned and is also an MSC Status company. SAM was set up in June 2006 and is led by its Chairman, Datuk Dr. Ahmed Tasir and its Chief Operating Officer, Naguib Mohd Nor. Naguib also functions as Engineering Group Leader and Engineering Quality Manager. SAM’s CEO, Anthony Bedborough fulfills an advisory role from the UK. Prior to setting up SAM, Naguib was the General Manager of SAM’s sister company Stress Analysis & Design Engineering UK Ltd (Strand UK). The two companies combined make up the Strand Group.
