PRESELECTING A MANAGED SPEED/MACH As long as the descent phase is not active, the PERF DES page may either be used to select a speed, or a Mach number, or both, to replace the optimum descent speed. SELECTING THE RADIO NAVAIDS CHECK, or SELECT, the appropriate NAVAIDS for the approach. For an ILS procedure, the ILS will be autotuned. NDBs must be entered manually. Note: When the destination has a VOR/DME, enter it manually in the VOR field. Enter its identifier in the BRG/DIST field of the PROG page. This allows you to perform a permanent NAV accuracy check.
