S 494-013-N00 (1) Install the PWA 85677 handling bracket on the front flange of the front fan case (24) at the 12:00 o'clock position.
(2) Attach the hoist to the handling bracket.
(3) Lightly put a load on the hoist to keep the fan case (24) on the same horizontal centerline as that of the engine.
(4) Remove the brackets (12, 14, 15, 20, 22, 46, and 47) from Flange B as follows:
(a) Remove the bolts (18), washers (19 and 23), spacers (17 and 21), and nuts (16) that attach the brackets (12, 14, 15, 20, 22, 46, and 47) to Flange B.
NOTE: Before you remove the brackets, put marks on the fan ____ case to make a record of each bracket's position and location. This will help you install them. (b) Remove all of the brackets (12, 14, 15, 20, 22, 46, and 47). S 034-017-N00 (5) Remove the remaining bolts (18), washers (19 and 23), spacers (17 and 21), and nuts (16) from the rear (Flange B) of the front fan case (24). (a) Lightly hit the flange with the fiber mallet to loosen the fan case (24).
(b) With the hoist, remove the front fan case (24) from the engine.
(c) Put the front fan case (24) on the pallet with the rear flange down.
(d) Remove the hoist and the handling bracket from the fan case.
S 034-019-N00 (7) If you will install a new fan case, do the steps that follow:
(a) Remove the two bolts (26) that attach the mounting pad (25) of the vibration accelerometer to flange A at approximately the
1:00 o'clock position. (b) Remove these brackets (10, 11, 32, 37, 38, 39, and 41) and the seven (27) brackets from Flange A1 as follows: NOTE: Put marks on the fan case for the bracket positions and ____ locations before you remove them. This will help you install them. 1) Remove the bolts (28), washers (5, 29, and 30), and nuts (31) that attach the seven brackets (27), and the brackets (32 and 38) to Flange A1. NOTE: These are at approximately the 11:30, 11:45, 12:00, ____ 1:00, 1:30, and 2:30 o'clock positions. a) Remove the bracket (32) and the seven (27) brackets from the front fan case (24). 2) Remove the bolts (33), washers (34), and nuts (35) that attach the brackets (10, 39, and 41) to Flange A1. NOTE: These are at approximately the 1:30, 2:00, and 3:00 ____ o'clock positions.
a) Remove the brackets (10, 39, and 41) from the fan case (24). NOTE: Bracket (41) includes the tee and the ____ flex hose (40) attachment. 3) Remove the bolts (36), washers (5 and 29), and nuts (31) that attach the brackets (11, 37, and 38) to Flange A1 at approximately the 1:45 and 2:00 o'clock positions. a) Remove the brackets (11, 37, and 38) from the front fan case (24).
