This provides the crew with flight and operational information as well as visual and aural alerts of malfunctions and/or operational changes. Additionally, data is provided to the flight data recorder (FDR) and the maintenance diagnostic computer (MDC). This chapter provides details on the following: • Engine indication and crew alerting system (EICAS); • Flight data recording; and • Maintenance diagnostics. Aural/Visual Warnings Figure 03−10−1 ENGINE INDICATION AND CREW ALERTING SYSTEM General Description The engine indication and crew alerting system (EICAS) processes inputs from aircraft systems to provide visual information and aural alerts to the crew.
